Textile exports decrease by 6% YoY in August: APTMA

September 11, 2023 (MLN): Textile exports in the month of August 2023 slumped by 6% YoY to $1.48 billion, compared to $1.58bn in August 2022, according to the statistics released by the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) on Saturday.

Meanwhile, on a sequential basis, textile exports increased by 12.9% MoM as compared to $1.31bn recorded in the previous month.

To note, this is the highest textile export since September of 2022 when it was recorded at $1.53bn.

Within 8MCY23, the exports of textiles stood at $10.58bn, decreasing by 19% YoY compared to 13bn in 8MCY22.

To recall, Pakistan's total exports in the month of August increased by 14.27% MoM to $2.26bn compared to $2.07bn in July 2023, as per the data reported by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on September 01.

Meanwhile, compared to August 2022, exports decreased by 4.83% YoY.
