April 01, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 index closed Monday's trading session at 66,796.32 showing a decrease of 208.79 points or 0.31%.

The index traded in a range of 563.46 points showing an intraday high of 67,304.37 (+299.26) and a low of 66,740.91 (-264.19) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 index was 79.759 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 34 closed up, 57 closed down, 3 were unchanged, while 6 remained untraded.

KSE-100 index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 62.51, Technology & Communication with 54.99, Cement with 46.03, Textile Composite with 22.73, and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 22.57 points.

On the flip-side, the index was supported by Commercial Banks with 44.24, Power Generation & Distribution with 31.31, Miscellaneous with 3.2, Synthetic & Rayon with 2.39, and Property with 2.08 points.

Companies that dragged the index lower were OGDC with 37.79, SYS with 30.77, PTC with 24.54, LUCK with 22.81 and ILP with 17.2 points.

On the other hand, companies that added points to the index were HUBC with 30.62, MEBL with 18.42, FABL with 17.5, HBL with 10.42, and MCB with 9.05 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 44,369.75 with a net loss of 193.14 points.

Total market volume was 237.991 million shares compared to 313.035 from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs8.32 billion showing a decrease of Rs1.55bn.

There were 115,962 trades reported in 334 companies with 138 closing up, 176 closing down and 20 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 25,344 points or 61.14% during the fiscal year, whereas the ongoing calendar year has witnessed a cumulative increase of 4,345 points, equivalent to 6.96%.
