April 23, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 71,359.41 showing a marginal decrease of 74.06 points or 0.1%.

The index traded in a range of 508.21 points showing an intraday high of 71,846.64 (+413.17) and a low of 71,338.43 (-95.03) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 index was 383.445 million shares.

Advancers to decliners remained balanced, with 46 companies closing up and 51 closing down. Meanwhile, 3 remained unchanged.

KSE-100 index was supported by Cement with 115.98, Textile Composite with 28.99, Automobile Assembler with 23.97, Glass & Ceramics with 21.56, and Property with 7.88 points.

On the contrary, the index was let down by Commercial Banks with 119.27, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 27.67, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 27.26, Automobile Parts & Accessories with 26.15, and Power Generation & Distribution with 25.91 points.

Companies adding points to the index were LUCK with 54.82, UBL with 36.16, HBL with 25.89, MTL with 24.15, and MLCF with 19.88 points.

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were MEBL with 73.99, FABL with 31.11, OGDC with 30.28, THALL with 26.15 and BAFL with 23.99 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 46,865.87 with a net loss of 98.78 points.

Total market volume was 655.936 million shares compared to 655.205 from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs24.49 billion showing a decrease of Rs6.82bn.

There were 282,235 trades reported in 368 companies with 168 closing up, 178 closing down and 22 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 29,907 points or 72.15% during the fiscal year, whereas the ongoing calendar year has witnessed a cumulative increase of 8,908 points, equivalent to 14.26%.
