September 09, 2026 (MLN): Nimir Industrial Chemicals Limited (PSX: NICL) recorded an 18% increase in its net profit for the year ended June 30, 2026, with profit after income tax climbing to Rs2.39bn from Rs2.02bn in the corresponding period last year.

The Board of Directors has declared a final cash dividend of Rs2.00 per share (20%) for the year ended June 30, 2026.

The top-line showed steady growth, with gross revenue from contracts with customers rising 7% year-on-year to Rs56.92bn from Rs53.16bn.

After accounting for sales tax and trade discounts which rose 9% to Rs8.63bn net revenue posted a 7% increase to Rs48.29bn from Rs45.26bn in the prior year.

Cost of revenue rose at a slower pace of 6% to Rs40.70bn, allowing gross profit to expand by 13% to Rs7.59bn from Rs6.69bn showing improved margin management as revenue growth outpaced cost increases.

On the expenditure side, distribution cost held virtually flat, declining marginally by less than 1% to Rs584.50m from Rs588.85m.

Administrative expenses rose a contained 4% to Rs730.60m from Rs701.79m. These combined movements delivered a 16% increase in operating profit to Rs6.28bn from Rs5.40bn.

Below the operating line, other expenses declined 24% to Rs350.94m from Rs458.86m, and other income more than doubled to Rs365.51m from Rs160.74m a positive swing on both counts.

Finance cost fell sharply by 24% to Rs1.80bn from Rs2.36bn, providing a substantial tailwind. No levy was recorded in the current year, against Rs624.94m in FY25 an additional saving that meaningfully boosted the pre-tax line.

These combined factors pushed profit before income tax to more than double at Rs4.49bn from Rs2.12bn, a gain of 112%.

The factor that moderated the bottom-line expansion was a dramatically higher income tax charge. Taxation surged to Rs2.09bn from just Rs92.99m in the prior year a more than twentyfold increase absorbing a substantial portion of the pre-tax gains and limiting the overall profit increase to 18% for the full year.
