PKR appreciates by 37 paisa against GBP

April 8, 2019 (MLN): The value of Pakistani Rupee (PKR) depreciated by 8.92 paisa against US dollar (USD) in the interbank market on Monday, as its closing value stood at Rs. 141.3296 as compared to last session’s closing of Rs. 141.3034. The Open Market Rate for USD was quoted at 142.20/143.

On the other hand, the local currency appreciated by 37.11 paisa against Pound Sterling (GBP) as it closed at Rs. 184.4466 against previous session’s closing of Rs. 184.8177.

Moreover, against EUR, the interbank market closed with Rupee quoted at Rs. 158.8263 which marked a depreciation of 16.38 paisa.

Against the Japanese Yen (JPY), the local currency depreciated by 0.36 paisa as its closing value stood at Rs. 1.286 as compared to last session’s closing of Rs. 1.265.

In the money market, the SBP mopped-up Rs.21 Billion for 4 days at 10.70 percent. While the Overnight repo rate towards close of session was 10.60/10.75 percent and 1 Week rate was 10.50/10.75 percent.
