PKR appreciates by 10 paisa against USD

April 25, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by 9.95 paisa or 0.04% against the US dollar in Friday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.97 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 281.07.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.15 and a low (ask) of 280.95.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 280.50 for buying and 282.75 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR increased 1.08 rupees or 0.34% against the Euro, closing at 318.99 compared to the previous value of 320.07.

Against the British Pound, PKR increased by 34.30 paisa or 0.09% to 373.48 compared to 373.82 a day ago.

The local unit appreciated 2.15 rupees or 0.63% against Swiss franc to close at 338.01.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value rose 1.33 paisa or 0.67% to close the session at 1.9589 versus 1.9722 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee weakened 3.05 paisa or 0.08% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.56 from 38.53.

The local currency strengthened by 2.65 paisa or 0.04% against Saudi Riyal to 74.90. While it gained by 2.81 paisa or 0.04% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.49.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has decreased against the US Dollar by 2.63 rupees or 0.94%. While it has fell 2.42 rupees or 0.86% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates remained unchanged at 11.84% and 12.09%.
