Oil production soars 9% WoW, Gas production rises 4%

June 06, 2023 (MLN): Hydrocarbon oil production for the week ended May 31, 2023 stood at 67,637 barrels of oil per day (BPD), which increased by 9% WoW as compared to 62,242 in the previous week.

Similarly, Hydrocarbon gas production for the week ended May 31, 2023 stood at 3,225 million cubic feet (MMcf/d), which rose by 4% WoW compared to 3,107 in the previous week.

Company-wise, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) had a major contribution to the production of oil which was 47% of the total oil produced in the week.

Other companies include Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), MARI Petroleum Limited (MARI), and Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL) with a production of 11,554 bpd, 1,136 bpd, and 4,412 bpd respectively.

On the other hand, MARI held dominance in gas production, producing 837 MMcf/d, around 26% of the total gas produced.

Other companies include OGDC, PPL, and POL with a production of 706 MMcf/d, 703 MMcf/d, and 60 MMcf/d.

Major oil fields comprised Nashpa (10,954 bpd), Makori East (8,478 bpd), Adhi (6,120 bpd), Kunner Pasaki Deep (4,225 bpd), Maramzai (2,572 bpd), Chanda (1,958 bpd), Mardan Khel (2,086 bpd), Makori Deep (374 bpd), Pasakhi (4,651 bpd) and Bari (91 bpd).

Major gas fields comprised of Mari (822 MMcf/d), Sui (290 MMcf/d), Uch (404 MMcf/d), Qadirpur (156 MMcf/d), Kunner Pasaki Deep (125 MMcf/d), Kandhkot (159 MMcf/d), Maramzai (99 MMcf/d), Nashpa (96 MMcf/d), Mkori East (74 MMcf/d), and Sutiara Deep (108 MMcf/d).
