Mari Petroleum announces measures to ensure safety of its employees from COVID-19

March 13, 2020 (MLN): In view of spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) around the Globe and in Pakistan, the management of Mari Petroleum Limited (MARI) has taken several measures for sustained operations of the Company and at the same time ensure safety of its employees, their families and visitors.

Pursuant to these measures, all local and foreign travels as well as gathering of employees for meetings and other sessions have been curtailed till improvement of the situation.

Screening tests are being conducted for the employees and their families. Several awareness sessions regarding Coronavirus covering topics such as origin and spread of the virus as well as preventive measures have been conducted for management and non-management staff at head office as well as all field locations.

The company updated that NO employee of MARI has been tested positive for COVID-19. However, as a precautionary measure, on Monday (16-03-2020), the Company will operate with a nucleus (only the most essential 15-20%) staff, while the remaining staff will work from home.

Similarly, on Tuesday (17-03-2020) all staff will work from home. The abovementioned activities on Monday and Tuesday are part of a mock exercise to test the capability of the Company to continue its operations in case COVID-19 situation so warrants in future.

The company assured that all operational activities including supply of gas, crude oil and condensates to downstream customers as well as all planned exploration activities will continue without any disruption.
