Gold observes a drop of Rs 500 to settle at Rs 94,500

March 12, 2020 (MLN): The demand for safe-haven fell today despite the stock carnage in capital markets. The price per tola gold dropped by Rs 500 to close at Rs 94,500 in the local market. The yellow metal had closed at Rs 95,000 per tola on last trading day.

According to the Karachi Sarafa Association, 10-gram gold lost Rs 428 to settle at Rs 81,019.

On the other hand, the silver prices remained flat and closed at Rs 1000 per tola. Similarly, 10-gram silver remained stable at Rs 857.33.

In the global market, gold prices declined by $26 to $1,640 per ounce against the previous closing of $1,666, while silver was valued at $16.70 per ounce.
