Toyota hikes car prices by up to Rs1.16mn

January 13, 2023 (MLN): The Indus Motor Company (IMC) has increased the Toyota car prices by up to Rs1.2 million due to economic uncertainties and inflation in raw material cost, also vendor cost of production has significantly increased, a notification issued by company showed.

In addition, the volatile situation of forex, increase in utilities and overheads has also impacted the cost of manufacturing for IMC.

Thus, this situation has made it extremely difficult for IMC to hold the current retail selling prices.

The company increased the prices of Yaris ATIV X CVT 1.5 from Rs4.25 million to Rs4.61mn, a jump of Rs350,000.

Similarly, the price of Yaris 1.5 ATIV X MT variant jumped by Rs 330,000 and it is now available at Rs4.339mn.

The next one is Yaris ATIV CVT 1.3, which used to cost Rs3.929mn and after the increase of Rs310,000, its new price is Rs4.239mn.

Then comes, Yaris ATIV M/T 1.3 and after the latest increase of Rs310,000 the new rate of the car is Rs4.039mn against the last rate of Rs3.729mn.

Yaris GLI CVT 1.3, which saw a hike of Rs. 300,000 taking the price to Rs. 4,069,000, compared to previous Rs. 3,769,000

As fifth variant, we have Yaris GLI CVT 1.3, which saw a hike of Rs300,000 taking the price to Rs4.069mn compared to previous Rs3.769mn.

And finally, it is Yaris GLI MT 1.3 and its old price is Rs3.539mn, after a jump of Rs280,000, the new rate is Rs3.819mn.

Corolla Altis Grande X CVT-i 1.8 (Beige Interior), is now priced at Rs6.169mn following a hike of Rs460,000. Earlier, the vehicle was available at Rs5.709mn.

Prices of Corolla Altis Grande X CVT-i 1.8 (Black Interior) have risen to Rs6.209mn after a jump of Rs 460,000.

The new ex-factory prices will be applicable on all new orders booked after January 12, 2023, the notification read.

Moreover, despite the massively changing market conditions and increasing competitive landscape, the company have been able to retain status as the most successful automobile brand in Pakistan.

To note, sales of passenger cars decreased by 10.78% MoM to 13,768 units in December as compared to 15,432 units in the last month, according to recent data of PAMA.

On a year-on-year basis, passenger car sales went down by 43.74% compared to 24,471 units sold in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the demand for cars also remained subdued due to new year as customers prefer make purchases after new year holidays.
