SBP to issue Rs.50 Commemorative Coin on Anti-Corruption Day

The Federal Government has authorized the State Bank of Pakistan to issue Rs. 50 Commemorative Coin of International Anti-Corruption Day.

These coins will be issued through the exchange counters of all the field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation from December 10, 2018.

Corruption is a complex social, political and economic phenomenon that affects all countries. Corruption undermines democratic institutions, slows economic development and contributes to political instability.

On 31 October 2003, the General Assembly adopted the United Nation Convention against corruption. The Assembly also designated 9 December as International Anti-Corruption Day to raise public awareness for Anti-Corruption.

The convention entered into force in December 2005.
