SBP announces half-yearly schedule of MPC meetings

July 14, 2023 (MLN): To make the process of monetary policy formulation predictable and transparent, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Friday announced a half-yearly schedule of Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meetings on a rolling basis.

In this regard, the dates for the next four meetings are as follows:

Monday, July 31, 2023, followed by Press Conference
Thursday, September 14, 2023
Monday, October 30, 2023
Tuesday, December 12, 2023

To recall, on June 26, 2023, the MPC, in an emergent meeting decided to raise the policy rate by 100 bps to 22%, effective June 27, 2023.
