Pakistan, Libya seek stronger ties in trade, education, business

September 22, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan and Libya have expressed interest in further strengthening friendly ties across diverse fields, particularly trade, education, and business-to-business exchanges.

The interest was expressed during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and Libya’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Al-Taher Al-Baour on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The two ministers exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the evolving situation in the Middle East, as well as its implications for regional peace, energy supplies, and the global economy, particularly for developing countries.

The Libyan foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic efforts for regional peace and stability.

Ishaq Dar stressed that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable means of addressing regional challenges and underscored the need for all parties to return to the Islamabad MoU to advance regional stability.
