Sale of Urea rises by 27.6% YoY during April

May 26, 2021 (MLN): The overall urea offtake during the month of April 2021 was 309 thousand tonnes, showing a rise of 27.6 percent as compared to the same period of last year.

According to the monthly report issued by National Fertilizer Development Centre (NFDC), the total urea availability during April 2021 was about 850 thousand tonnes, comprising 298 thousand tonnes of previous season leftover and 552 thousand tonnes of domestic production. Urea offtake during April 2021 was 309 thousand tonnes. The closing balance was 531 thousand tonnes.

Moreover, Offtake of urea increased in Punjab, Sindh, KP and Balochistan by 29, 22, 31 and 22 percent respectively, as compared with April 2020.

OUTLOOK FOR KHARIF 2021

Urea availability during Kharif 2021 is estimated to be around 3,533 thousand tonnes comprising 298 thousand tonnes of previous season leftover and local production of 3,235 thousand tonnes. The urea offtake is projected to be around 3,033 thousand tonnes during Kharif 2021, reflecting a healthy stock of 491 thousand tonnes for next season.
