RDA: Inflows surpass mark of $6bn as of April 07

April 07, 2023 (MLN): Foreign exchange inflows through Roshan Digital Account (RDA) have surpassed the mark of $6 billion by April 07, 2023, since its launch in September 2020, latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) showed today.

Within the 5 working days of April 2023, the overseas Pakistanis deposited $39 million while in the month of March 2023, $155mn was deposited.

While the SBP has not released the breakup of the inflows, prior data shows $3.65bn was invested in Naya Pakistan Certificates (NPCs) while a $49mn investment has been observed in the equity market through RDA.

As of February, the total amount invested in NPCs, $1.83bn has been invested in conventional NPCs, whereas $1.82bn has been invested in Islamic NPCs.

Over 536,000 accounts have been opened from around 175 counties across different Pakistani banks, the data further unveiled.
