March 05, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 112,253.76, showing a decrease of 490.03 points or 0.43%.

The index traded in a range of 1,181.03 points showing an intraday high of 113,327.12 (+583.33) and a low of 112,146.09 (-597.70) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 152.19 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 34 closed up, 63 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were MEHT (-9.45%), JDWS (-3.47%), PTC (-3.03%), KTML (-2.59%), and FHAM (-2.55%).

On the other hand, top gainers were PIBTL (+5.04%), HGFA (+5.04%), TGL (+4.32%), LOTCHEM (+3.73%), and NESTLE (+2.03%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were EFERT (-71.01pts), FFC (-55.32pts), PSO (-54.61pts), MARI (-37.29pts), and PPL (-35.68pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were ENGROH (+98.16pts), TGL (+17.91pts), LUCK (+15.88pts), PIBTL (+12.04pts), and NESTLE (+11.01pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-131.14pts), Fertilizer (-122.54pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-110.17pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-58.29pts), and Technology & Communication (-55.53pts).

While the index was supported by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+104.58pts), Glass & Ceramics (+22.24pts), Chemical (+13.45pts), Transport (+12.04pts), and Miscellaneous (+11.07pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 69,831.18 with a net loss of 217.48 points or 0.31%.

Total market volume was 263.96 million shares compared to 206.85m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs13.73 billion showing an increase of Rs2.39bn.

There were 167,582 trades reported in 430 companies with 165 closing up, 196 closing down, and 69 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 33,809 points or 43.10% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 2,873 points or 2.50% so far this calendar year.
