Car sales rise 42% in February 2026

March 10, 2026 (MLN): The sales of cars, including LCVs, vans, and jeeps, in Pakistan increased by 41.7% in February 2026, clocking in at 17,121 units compared to 12,084 units recorded in the same month of last year, the latest data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) showed today.

Conversely, on a month-on-month basis, auto sales have decreased by 25.7% compared to the 23,055 cars sold in January 2026.

Cumulatively, in 8MFY26, sales clocked in at 128,489 units, around 43.2% higher compared to 89,729 units sold in 8MFY25.

Pakistan’s auto industry recorded production of 157,543 units and sales of 159,512 units across all vehicle categories in February 2026, once again showing strong market activity as sales slightly outpaced production during the month.

Toyota Pakistan remained the dominant player in the 1300cc and above segment, producing 2,846 units of its Corolla, Yaris, and Corolla Cross models in February 2026 compared to 2,074 units in February 2025.

The company sold 3,102 units during the month, with sales exceeding production, indicating continued robust demand for Toyota’s lineup.

Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan reported production of 1,938 units of the Civic and City models in February 2026, slightly higher than the 1,838 units produced in February 2025. Sales reached 1,861 units, closely matching production levels and signaling steady demand for Honda’s vehicles.

Suzuki Pakistan showed mixed performance across its passenger car lineup. The company produced 1,467 units of the Swift in February 2026, more than double the 633 units produced in February 2025, showing a significant increase in output.

In the Cultus segment, production stood at 506 units, compared with 289 units manufactured in February last year. The WagonR model remained discontinued, with no production recorded during the current fiscal period.

The jeeps and pickups category produced 3,318 units in February 2026, compared to 3,074 units in February 2025, while sales reached 3,733 units, again surpassing production levels and highlighting sustained demand in the segment.

Meanwhile, the motorcycle and three-wheeler segment continued to form the backbone of Pakistan’s automotive sector, with total production of 157,543 units and sales of 159,512 units recorded in February 2026, maintaining its position as the largest contributor to the country’s vehicle industry.
