May 15, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 119,961.91- the highest ever closing, showing an increase of 1,425.39 points or 1.20%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 119,990.30 (+1,453.78) and a low of 118,871.13 (+334.61) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 310.69 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 76 closed up, 24 closed down, while 0 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were PTC (+10.03%), AVN (+8.62%), BNWM (+8.60%), ATRL (+8.29%), and PSX (+7.88%).

On the other hand, top losers were POML (-5.82%), PKGP (-5.30%), NML (-3.14%), TPLRF1 (-2.97%), and MEHT (-1.90%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were UBL (+229.04pts), ENGROH (+140.45pts), HUBC (+111.91pts), EFERT (+94.84pts), and MEBL (+80.42pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were LUCK (-53.05pts), PKGP (-31.80pts), NML (-18.46pts), TPLRF1 (-16.35pts), and TRG (-11.97pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+422.88pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+172.77pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+155.81pts), Fertilizer (+143.69pts), and Power Generation & Distribution (+94.57pts).

While the index was let down by Real Estate Investment Trust (-14.12pts), Textile Composite (-11.87pts), Insurance (-5.01pts), Automobile Parts & Accessories (-4.19pts), and Paper, Board & Packaging (-2.35pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 74,240.52 with a net gain of 901.96 points or 1.23%.

Total market volume was 698.97 million shares compared to 609.06m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs39.09 billion showing a decrease of Rs2.82bn.

There were 356,839 trades reported in 457 companies with 311 closing up, 107 closing down, and 39 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 41,517 points or 52.92% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 4,835 points or 4.20% so far this calendar year.
