July 14, 2023 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index closed Friday's trading session at 45,067.98 showing a decrease of 198.98 points or 0.44% DoD.
The index held steady throughout the session, however, investors decided to cash in more gains towards the end of the session to close out the trading week.
The index traded in a range of 445.28 points showing an intraday high of 45,488.45 and a low of 45,043.17.
Total Volume of the KSE100 Index was 112.885 million shares.
Of the 100 index companies 19 closed up, 70 closed down, 7 were unchanged while 4 remained untraded.
KSE100 Index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 67.42, Technology & Communication with 40.14, Cement with 36.39, Fertilizer with 33.34 and Commercial Banks with 24.48 points.
Companies dragging the index lower were ENGRO with 27.48, OGDC with 24.98, PPL with 23.24, HBL with 20.58 and TRG with 20.03 points.
KSE100 index was supported by Chemical with 64.63, Power Generation & Distribution with 13.72, Tobacco with 10.57, Food & Personal Care Products with 7.94 and Pharmaceuticals with 4.76 points.
Companies adding points to the index were COLG with 68.32, MEBL with 27.24, UNITY with 11.66, HUBC with 11.19 and PAKT with 10.57 points.
In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 30,329.14 with a net loss of 31.61 points.
Total market volume was 267.514 million shares compared to 489.176 from the previous session while traded value being recorded at 6.78 billion showing a decrease of Rs.7.76 billion.
There was 115,195 trades reported in 321 companies with 98 closing up, 194 closing down and 29 remaining unchanged.
