PSX Closing Bell: Run the World

April 03, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 118,938.11, showing an increase of 1,131.37 points or 0.96%.

The index traded in a range of 1,671.38 points, showing an intraday high of 119,179.45 (+1,372.71) and a low of 117,508.07 (-298.67) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 201.03 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 64 closed up, 33 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were UBL (+8.20%), AGL (+7.94%), MEHT (+6.59%), HCAR (+6.24%), and MLCF (+3.96%).

On the other hand, top losers were KTML (-4.24%), SRVI (-4.12%), ILP (-3.92%), EFUG (-3.75%), and PAEL (-3.27%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were UBL (+542.90pts), MEBL (+133.74pts), MARI (+63.67pts), LUCK (+56.85pts), and OGDC (+41.39pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (-53.37pts), SYS (-37.78pts), SRVI (-35.78pts), BAHL (-30.46pts), and ILP (-22.69pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+704.18pts), Cement (+156.27pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+111.76pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+51.50pts), and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+43.58pts).

While the index was let down by Leather & Tanneries (-35.78pts), Textile Composite (-28.15pts), Cable & Electrical Goods (-22.11pts), Insurance (-10.82pts), and Technology & Communication (-7.42pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 73,949.09 with a net gain of 608.68 points or 0.83%.

Total market volume was 422.70 million shares compared to 329.99m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs28.21 billion showing an increase of Rs8.44bn.

There were 283,285 trades reported in 452 companies with 247 closing up, 153 closing down, and 52 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 40,493 points or 51.62% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 3,811 points or 3.31% so far this calendar year.
