June 01, 2023 (MLN): Owing to the uncertain economic situation and political instability, the investors remained sideways, opting for a cautious approach which led the benchmark KSE-100 Index to lose 63.79 points to end Thursday’s session at 41,266.77.

The index traded in a range of 254.59 points showing an intraday high of 41,481.53 and a low of 41,226.94.

The total Volume of the KSE100 Index was 49.183 million shares.

Of the companies in KSE100 38 closed up, 43 closed down, 7 were unchanged while 12 remained untraded.

KSE100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks with 49.03, Food & Personal Care Products with 22.44, Fertilizer with 13.93, Textile Composite with 6.27 and Tobacco with 5.63 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were NESTLE with 22.23, UBL with 20.44, ENGRO with 13.56, MEBL with 11.41 and HBL with 10.89 points.

KSE100 index was supported by Technology & Communication with 19.93, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 13.42, Automobile Assembler with 7.16, Real Estate Investment Trust with 3.89 and Engineering with 3.88 points.

Companies adding points to the index were SYS with 21.56, DAWH with 11.8, PPL with 8.79, OGDC with 7.41 and INDU with 4.67 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 27,622.73 with a net loss of 80.5 points.

The total market volume was 99.951 million shares with traded value being recorded at 2.86 billion.

There were 57,275 trades reported in 300 companies with 134 closing up, 131 closing down and 35 remaining unchanged.
