PSX Closing Bell: Flying High

July 02, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 79,552.88, showing an increase of 728.55 points or 0.92%.

The index traded in a range of 761.81 points showing an intraday high of 79,740.35 (+916.02) and a low of 78,978.54 (+154.21) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 index was 192.80 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 67 closed up, 27 closed down, while 6 were unchanged.

KSE-100 index was supported by Commercial Banks (+241.24pts), Fertilizer (+222.63pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+75.69pts), Engineering (+70.18pts), and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+48.16pts).

On the flip-side, the index was let down by Textile Composite (-20.84pts), Synthetic & Rayon (-14.85pts), Miscellaneous (-11.48pts), Automobile Parts & Accessories (-11.22pts), and Tobacco (-11.14pts).

Companies that added points to the index were FFC (+159.27pts), PPL (+61.67pts), NBP (+55.44pts), INIL (+33.31pts), and UBL (+30.09pts).

Companies that dragged the index lower were PSEL (-17.09pts), IBFL (-14.85pts), MARI (-11.87pts), ILP (-11.69pts), and THALL (-11.22pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 50,407.24 with a net gain of 404.65 points or 0.81%.

Total market volume was 413.15 million shares compared to 306.04m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs16.60 billion showing an increase of Rs2.85bn.

There were 206,374 trades reported in 431 companies with 246 closing up, 128 closing down, and 57 remaining unchanged.
