May 14, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 118,536.52, showing a decrease of 39.36 points or 0.03%.

The index traded in a range of 1,311.90 points, showing an intraday high of 119,460.54 (+884.66) and a low of 118,148.64 (-427.24) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 273.52 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 42 closed up, 55 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were IBFL (-7.61%), POML (-3.64%), NPL (-3.45%), PABC (-3.01%), and OGDC (-2.74%).

On the other hand, top gainers were AGL (+10.01%), FCEPL (+5.56%), LOTCHEM (+5.38%), GADT (+5.18%), and UNITY (+4.67%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were OGDC (-129.21pts), MCB (-78.21pts), BAHL (-50.98pts), PSO (-50.79pts), and MARI (-44.96pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were ENGROH (+194.23pts), FFC (+101.92pts), UBL (+66.96pts), MEBL (+64.81pts), and PPL (+42.05pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-170.57pts), Commercial Banks (-90.08pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-66.90pts), Cement (-56.78pts), and Power Generation & Distribution (-41.47pts).

While the index was supported by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+192.46pts), Fertilizer (+122.20pts), Technology & Communication (+40.48pts), Refinery (+27.52pts), and Food & Personal Care Products (+26.90pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 73,338.56 with a net gain of 30.83 points or 0.04%.

Total market volume was 609.06 million shares compared to 684.29m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs41.91 billion showing a decrease of Rs10.67bn.

There were 346,539 trades reported in 451 companies with 207 closing up, 191 closing down, and 53 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 40,092 points or 51.11% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 3,410 points or 2.96% so far this calendar year.
