January 14, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 114,804.16, showing an increase of 574.10 points or 0.50%.

The index traded in a range of 1,208.19 points showing an intraday high of 115,044.79 (+814.73) and a low of 113,836.60 (-393.46) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 258.82 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 64 closed up, 34 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were ATRL (+8.18%), KTML (+7.37%), PSX (+7.22%), GLAXO (+6.06%), and NRL (+5.86%).

On the other hand, top losers were PGLC (-4.41%), PABC (-3.49%), AKBL (-2.81%), EFUG (-2.62%), and JDWS (-2.51%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were UBL (+196.27pts), MARI (+83.25pts), SYS (+72.75pts), ATRL (+69.99pts), and PSO (+63.87pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-144.53pts), OGDC (-57.70pts), FFC (-40.67pts), PPL (-33.99pts), and MTL (-30.82pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+153.76pts), Technology & Communication (+114.49pts), Cement (+105.83pts), Refinery (+97.23pts), and Pharmaceuticals (+93.84pts).

While the index was let down by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-112.59pts), Fertilizer (-40.34pts), Automobile Assembler (-18.91pts), Sugar & Allied Industries (-6.45pts), and Miscellaneous (-5.30pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 71,438.13 with a net gain of 462.14 points or 0.65%.

Total market volume was 589.46 million shares compared to 521.21m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs32.58 billion showing an increase of Rs4.30bn.

There were 319,934 trades reported in 463 companies with 269 closing up, 137 closing down, and 57 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 36,359 points or 46.35% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 323 points or 0.28% so far this calendar year.
