September 10, 2026 (MLN): Interloop Limited (PSX: ILP) posted a stellar performance for the year ended June 30, 2026, with its consolidated net profit more than doubling to Rs12.45bn from Rs5.65bn in the corresponding period last year.

Showing this exceptional bottom-line growth, the company's basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) expanded to Rs9.06 from Rs3.96 in FY25.

The Board of Directors has declared a final cash dividend of Rs2.00 per share (20%) for the year ended June 30, 2026.

The top-line showed modest growth, with net sales rising 5% year-on-year to Rs187.70bn from Rs179.41bn in the prior year.

Cost of sales rose at a significantly slower pace of 2% to Rs144.92bn, creating a meaningful positive differential with revenue growth and allowing gross profit to expand by 16% to Rs42.78bn from Rs36.76bn showing strong margin management and improved operational efficiency.

On the expenditure side, distribution cost declined 11% to Rs6.26bn, providing meaningful relief. Administrative expenses rose 10% to Rs11.76bn, and other operating expenses more than doubled to Rs1.94bn from Rs947.78m.

Total operating expenses rose 7% to Rs19.95bn from Rs18.65bn. The standout positive development above the operating line was a sixfold surge in other income to Rs3.42bn from Rs547.87m a powerful boost that amplified the operating profit gain. These combined movements drove profit from operations up 41% to Rs26.25bn from Rs18.66bn.

Below the operating line, finance cost declined sharply by 35% to Rs6.21bn from Rs9.58bn a substantial tailwind that, combined with the strong operating profit growth, more than doubled profit before income tax and levies to Rs20.04bn from Rs9.09bn.

Levies swung to a charge of Rs40.45m from a credit of Rs21.57m last year, a marginal impact, bringing profit before income tax to Rs20.00bn also more than double the Rs9.11bn recorded last year.

Income tax more than doubled to Rs7.55bn from Rs3.46bn rising in near-perfect proportion to the pre-tax profit growth.

Despite this substantially higher tax burden, the exceptional operational performance and lower finance cost were more than sufficient to deliver the more than doubling in profit for the year.
