PSX Closing Bell: All Star

July 20, 2023 (MLN): Bulls took charge today after the past five sideways sessions, resultantly, the benchmark-100 index closed Thursday's trading session at  45,398.31 points, gaining 303.2pts or 0.67% Dod.

The index traded in a range of 383.69 points showing an intraday high of 45,451.64 and a low of 45,067.95.

Total Volume of the KSE100 Index was 157.394 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 69 closed up, 20 closed down, 5 were unchanged while 6 remained untraded.

The rally was led by the Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 93.73, Commercial Banks with 58.24, Fertilizer with 52.47, Cement with 49.67 and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 31.98 points.

Companies adding points to the index were UBL with 54.89, PPL with 43.45, ENGRO with 37.33, OGDC with 27.26 and UNITY with 20.48 points.

KSE100 Index was let down by Chemical with 76.87, Tobacco with 12.04, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 8.67, Paper & Board with 5.45 and Miscellaneous with 0.94 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were COLG with 76.85, MCB with 26.29, NESTLE with 12.77, PAKT with 12.04 and DAWH with 5.69 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 30,418.17 with a net gain of 65.84 points.

Total market volume was 464.226 million shares compared to 245.454 from the previous session while traded value being recorded at 10.1 billion showing an increase of Rs.0.7 billion.

There was 139,721 trades reported in 344 companies with 227 closing up, 90 closing down and 27 remaining unchanged.
