September 05, 2022 (MLN): The domestic equities closed in red due to rising inflation and concerns over an estimated loss of $10bn amid the massive devastation caused by the floods.
Trading in a range of 527.19 points, the benchmark KSE-100 index ended the session on Monday with a 449.81 point or 1.06% decline to close at 41,859.30.
The Index showed an intraday high of 42,385.35 and a low of 41,858.16.
Of the 93 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 13 closed up 77 closed down, while 3 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 63.94 million shares.
Sector wise, the index was let down by Commercial Banks with 68 points, Technology & Communication with 67 points, Cement with 51 points, Fertilizer with 48 points and Power Generation & Distribution with 38 points.
The most points taken off the index was by SYS which stripped the index of 39 points followed by ENGRO with 32 points, HUBC with 28 points, HBL with 26 points and TRG with 25 points.
Sectors propping up the index were Tobacco with 3 points and Modarabas with 2 points.
The most points added to the index was by POL which contributed 5 points followed by PAKT with 3 points, ICI with 3 points, NCL with 2 points and FHAM with 2 points.
All Share Volume decreased by 3.34 Million to 156.80 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs.62.10 Billion.
Total companies traded were 340 compared to 344 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 68 closed up, 253 closed down while 19 remained unchanged.
Total trades increased by 3,901 to 81,966.
