July 12, 2019 (MLN): Pakistani rupee (PKR) depreciated by 30 paisa against US Dollar (USD) at today's interbank session as the currency closed the day's trade at PKR 158.79 per USD, against previous session's closing of PKR 158.49 per USD.
The Rupee remained relatively stable, with the value of the currency trading in a range of 0.40 Rupee per USD showing an intraday high bid of 158.8 and an intraday Low offer of 158.6
During the week, the currency has lost 1.9 rupees against the greenback, as the previous week was concluded at PKR 156.93 per USD.
Meanwhile, the currency lost 21 paisa against Pound Sterling as the day's closing quote stood at PKR 198.94 per GBP, while the previous session closed at PKR 198.73 per GBP.
Similarly, PKR's value weakened by 14 paisa against EUR which closed at PKR 178.75 at the interbank today.
Within the Open Market, PKR was traded at 158.3/160 per USD.
On another note, within the money market, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) conducted an Open Market Operation in which it injected Rs.356.22 billion for 7 days at 12.3 percent.
The overnight repo rate towards close of the session was 12.25/12.40 percent, whereas the 1 week rate was 12.27/12.30 percent.
