PKR weakens by 1 paisa against greenback

November 14, 2019 (MLN): Pakistani rupee (PKR) closed today's trading session relatively unchanged against the USD with the rate remaing stable at PKR 155.42.

The rupee traded within a very narrow range of 11 paisa per USD showing an intraday high bid of 155.46 and an intraday Low offer of 155.40.

Within the Open Market, PKR was traded at 154.50/155.50 per USD.

Meanwhile, the currency lost 27 paisa to the Pound Sterling as the day's closing quote stood at PKR 199.77 per GBP, while the previous session closed at PKR 199.49 per GBP.

On the other hand, PKR's value strengthened by 13 paisa against EUR which closed at PKR 171 at the interbank today.

On another note, within the money market, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) conducted an Open Market Operation in which it injected Rs.300 billion for 1 day at 13.3 percent.

The overnight repo rate towards close of the session was 13.30/13.50 percent, whereas the 1 week rate was 13.25/13.30 percent.
