PKR surpasses 188 mark in intraday trade

April 7, 2022 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) has surpassed 188 per US dollar [PST: 11:34] on political turmoil, the expectation of slowing economic growth to 4% and accelerating imported inflation that may deteriorate foreign exchange reserves further.

The dollar was being quoted at 188.05/188.20 when compared to the previous day’s close of 186.13.

Within the first hour of the trading session, PKR has depreciated by 97 paisa (10:52 PST).
