PKR falls 10 paisa per USD

April 07, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani Rupee (PKR) has reached its 52-week low today as the currency settled the trade at PKR 280.57 per USD.

Compared to the previous closing of 280.47, the local unit lost 10.29 paisa or 0.04% against the US dollar. 

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.65 and a low (ask) of 280.55.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 280.00 for buying and 282.00 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR fell 87.07 paisa or 0.28% against the Euro, closing at 309.21 compared to the previous value of 308.34.

Against the British Pound, PKR rose by 2.43 rupees or 0.67% to 362.27 compared to 364.70 a day ago.

The local unit decreased 3.22 rupees or 0.98% against Swiss franc to close at 331.09.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value fell 0.88 paisa or 0.46% to close the session at 1.9241 versus 1.9153 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee increased 13.95 paisa or 0.36% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.38 from 38.51.

The local currency rose by 1.24 paisa or 0.02% against Saudi Riyal to 74.74. While it weakened by 2.90 paisa or 0.04% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.39.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has deteriorated against the US Dollar by 2.23 rupees or 0.79%. While it has fell 2.02 rupees or 0.72% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1bps to 11.86% and 12.11%.
