PKR decreases by 9 paisa against USD

November 26, 2024 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) depreciated by 8.85 paisa or 0.03% against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 277.84 per USD, compared to previous closing of 277.75.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 277.90 and a low (ask) of 277.80.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 277.09 for buying and 278.9 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR decreased 84.26 paisa or 0.29% against the Euro, closing at 291.12 compared to the previous value of 290.28.

Against the British Pound, PKR rose by 19.45 paisa or 0.06% to 348.62 compared to 348.82 a day ago.

The local unit weakened 1.73 rupees or 0.56% against Swiss franc to close at 313.33.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value depreciated 0.83 paisa or 0.46% to close the session at 1.8054 versus 1.7971 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee increased 5.23 paisa or 0.14% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.28 from 38.33.

The local currency weakened by 1.76 paisa or 0.02% against Saudi Riyal to 73.99. While it deteriorated by 2.41 paisa or 0.03% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 75.64.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 50.00 paisa or 0.18%. While it has strengthened 4.02 rupees or 1.45% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates fell by 7bps to 13.27% and 13.52%.
