Pakistan's economic policies pay off with Fitch credit rating upgrade: FM

 July 30, 2024 (MLN): In view of the recent credit rating upgrade by Fitch, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb stated that this improvement reflects the government's efforts to achieve macroeconomic stability over the last couple of months.

He made these remarks while addressing the media in Islamabad, according to the Information Ministry.

He further added that the process of finalizing the Staff Level Agreement with the IMF played a crucial role in achieving this upgrade.

The Minister said all macro factors of the country's economy are looking positive which shows we are heading in the right direction.

Muhammad Aurangzeb said the policy rates are coming down which is positive news for the industry.

He expressed hope that the policy rate will decrease further with the reduction in the inflation rate which has shrunk to 12% from 38%.

He also expressed optimism that these positive developments will strengthen the economy in the future.
