Oil sales jump 18% in Oct

November 04, 2024 (MLN): The sales of oil marketing companies (OMCs) increased by 18.2% to 1.49 million Metric Tons (MTs) in October 2024 compared to 1.26m MTs in October 2023, data released by Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC) showed.

Similarly, on a month-on-month basis, oil sales rose 17.4% compared to the sale of 1.27m MTs in September 2024.

Cumulatively in the ongoing fiscal year (4MFY25), sales stood at 5.18m MTs, up 2.0% against the sales of 5.08m MTs in the same period of last year.

Product-wise, the sales of Motor Spirit (MS), High-Speed Diesel (HSD), Furnace Oil (FO) jumped by 15%, 22.4%, and 7.5% YoY to stand at 0.67m, 0.69m, and 57,552 MTs, respectively, during the month.

On a month-on-month basis, the sales of MS, and HSD have increased by 5.2%, and 38.7% YoY, respectively.
