Nepra hikes electricity tariff by Rs4.85 per unit

April 15, 2022 (MLN): National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has increased the electricity tariff of Distribution Companies (Discos) by Rs4.853 per unit for February 2022 under the monthly Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) mechanism.

According to the NEPRA notification, the actual fuel charges stood at Rs9.1046kWh whereby the corresponding reference charge was fixed at Rs4.2516/kWh and a fuel price variation of Rs4.8530/kWh was recorded.

The increase will be applicable to all the consumer categories except lifeline consumers and will be shown separately in the consumers’ bills on the basis of units billed to the consumers in the month of February 2022, the notice said.

Discos will reflect the fuel charges in the billing month of April 2022, it added.
