MARI Petroleum reports Hydrocarbon Discovery - Exploratory Well Aqeeq-l, Sujawal Block, Sindh

In an announcement served to PSX, MARI petroleum has informed its investors about a new gas discovery at exploratory well Aqeeq-l in Sujawal Block, located in district Sujawal, Sindh.

The well was spud-in on March 9, 2017 and drilled down to the depth of 2,320 meters to explore/test the hydrocarbon potential of Upper Sands of Lower Goru Formation. Based on wire line logs and drilling results, testing was undertaken in Upper Sands which resulted in discovery of gas and condensate. The well flowed 5 MMSCFD gas and 21 barrels per day condensate with WHFP of 586 Psi at 40/64 inch chock size. This gas discovery qualifies for 2012 Petroleum Policy price. The Aqeeq-l discovery further augments MPCL's exploration success rate, which already ranks the highest in the Country. MPCL is the sole owner and operator of the Sujawal Block.
