KE seeks Rs5.18 per unit tariff hike for Jul-Sep’21

December 23, 2021 (MLN): K-Electric (KE), the sole electricity supplier in Karachi has sought about 32 paisa per unit increase in tariff for the month of November, a notice issued by Nepra showed today.

In addition, KE has also demanded up to Rs5.18 per unit increase for Jul- Sep 2021, under quarterly fuel cost adjustments (FCAs).

As per the notice, KE has submitted the revision in quarterly adjustment is due to updating the fuel cost component for July to September 2021 in line with Nepra’s FCA determination for these months.

In this regard, the authority has decided to hold public hearing on these petitions on January 3, 2022 to examine if data provided by the power company justified such tariff increases.
