IT minister lauds PTCL’s acquisition of Telenor as catalyst for digital transformation

December 15, 2023 (MLN): The purchase of Telenor operations by Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PSX: PTC) is welcoming for the telecom sector as it will accelerate the process of digital transformation in the country, Caretaker Minister for IT and Telecommunication Dr. Umar Saif stated on Thursday.
Dr. Umar Saif urged PTCL and Telenor to play their role for the development of telecom sector, said a press release issued on the same day.
The minister said that Ministry of IT & Telecom is committed for the provision of better telecom services to the masses.
He also urged cellular operators to take steps for providing quality services to consumers.
He said that the Spectrum will be auctioned very soon.
