Index under selling pressure yet again

The benchmark KSE – 100 Index fell back under the dominance of bears during the initial hours of today’s trading session.

Having broken a 5 day long negative streak the day before, the index enjoyed only one day in the positive territory before negative sentiments clouded the capital markets yet again.

The 100 – Index has lost 253 points so far, and is currently trading at 41,500 points, down by 0.58% from yesterday’s closing value.

Bound within a range of 304 points, as of now, the 100 – index has touched an intraday high of 41,805 points and an intraday low of 41,500 points.

The scrips listed within KSE – 100 have witnessed a trading activity of 35.2 million shares until now, at PKR 2 billion.

Emerging as the worst performing sectors of the day, Fertilizer, Cement and Power Generation and Distribution have taken away a total of 141 points from the KSE – 100 index up till now, thus making the greatest losses amongst all sectors.

On the other hand, the broader KSE All Share has shed 130 points by now and is trading at 30,538 points at present, down by 0.42%.

An intraday high of 30,700 points has been recorded at the KSE index, while intraday low has sunk to 30,533 points, as of now.

Over 65 million shares of scrips listed within the broader KSE, have been traded by far. The value of trade is currently recorded at Rs.2.7 billion.

The chemical sector is leading the volumes within Karachi Stock Exchange, yet again.

Among the constituents that make up the KSE All Share Index, Jubilee Life Insurance (JLICL) has gained Rs.20 in terms of its stock price and is presently the best performing scrip.

Meanwhile, Murree Brewery Company (MUREB) has lost Rs.39.8 and is trading as the worst performing scrip.

Pakistan International Bulk limited is leading the volume so far, having traded 6.5 million shares, up till now.
