Government making all-out efforts to accelerate oil, gas exploration

The government is making all-out efforts to further accelerate oil and gas exploration Activities to achieve self-sufficiency in the energy sector.

According to officials, 98 oil and gas discoveries have been made over the last four years including five in the last four months in Sindh province.

They said that Pakistan is also importing Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from Qatar to meet the gas requirements.

They said the world's major players are also showing interest to invest in the LNG sector by setting up their own terminals and developing transmission network to supply the commodity to the consumers. They said the government is encouraging involvement of private sector in the energy sector.
