RLNG imports stay disrupted, PSO volumes decline in Sep'26

September 25, 2026 (MLN): RLNG imports remained disrupted in September 2026, with PSO's volumes on the SNGPL transmission network declining to 201 mmcfd as only two cargoes were imported under long-term contracts, at slopes of 13.37% and 10.2%, respectively, while no spot cargoes were imported by PLL.

According to a research note by Arif Habib Limited, the weighted average RLNG price on the SNGPL network fell 20% month-on-month in September 2026, driven by lower oil prices and reduced terminal charges, even as import volumes stayed constrained.

The RLNG price on a Delivered Ex-Ship (DES) basis stood at $10.06/mmbtu for the month.

PSO/PLL margins of 2.50% added $0.25/mmbtu, while other charges of $1.90/mmbtu took the RLNG cost to $12.22/mmbtu.

Additional charges of $0.90/mmbtu, along with cost of supply to SNGPL at $0.63/mmbtu and to SSGC at $0.24/mmbtu, brought the RLNG price without GST to $13.99/mmbtu.

The slope as a percentage of Brent stood at 11.79% for the period, with the report noting a marked decline in the Qatar slope, down to 10.20% for new contracts from 13.37% under current arrangements.

The import value per cargo was recorded at $42.98mn, taking the overall import value for the month to $85.97mn.
