Gold falls to $1,747 an ounce

August 9, 2021 (MLN): Gold rates on Monday hit their lowest in more than four months in international markets, falling as much as 4.4% at one point as US dollar strengthened after the upbeat U.S. labour data. The precious metal price plunged by $16 to reach $1,747 per ounce, while silver was traded at $24.04 an ounce.

Following the same track, the gold price also dropped in the local bullion market today as the price of 24 karat per tola gold witnessed a decline of Rs700 and was traded at Rs108,500 against its sale at Rs109,200 per tola the previous day.

Similarly, the price of 10-gram 24 karat also dropped by Rs600 and was sold at Rs93,021 while that of ten-gram 22 karat traded at Rs 85,270 as per Karachi Sarafa and Jewellers Association reported.

On the other hand, the price of 24-Karat silver per tola and 10-gram silver remained stagnant at Rs1,440 and Rs1,234.56, respectively.
