May 20, 2020 (MNL): The KSE-100 index lost nearly 225 points in today’s session and ultimately closed at 33,932-mark, mainly due to the absence of positive triggers and profit-taking activity.

The Index traded in a range of 434.82 points or 1.27 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 34,222.42 and a low of 33,787.60.

Of the 92 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 28 closed up 63 closed down, while 1 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 107.17 million shares.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 74 points, Fertilizer with 66 points, Commercial Banks with 43 points, Pharmaceuticals with 31 points and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 22 points.

The most points taken off the index was by ENGRO which stripped the index of 29 points followed by FFC with 28 points, PPL with 28 points, DAWH with 22 points and HBL with 19 points.

Sectors propping up the index were Automobile Assembler with 21 points, Miscellaneous with 11 points, Tobacco with 11 points, Cement with 9 points and Automobile Parts & Accessories with 6 points.

The most points added to the index was by PSEL which contributed 18 points followed by PAKT with 11 points, EFUG with 9 points, HCAR with 8 points and ICI with 8 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 82.70 Million to 165.10 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs.30.70 Billion.

Total companies traded were 344 compared to 357 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 120 closed up, 212 closed down while 12 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 30,094 to 78,338.

Value Traded decreased by 3.62 Billion to Rs.6.87 Billion
