SBP reserves dip by $303mn

October 13, 2022 (MLN): The foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) during the week ended on October 7 declined by $303 million to $7.6 billion, latest data released by the central bank showed on Thursday.

“During the week ended on 07-Oct- 2022, the SBP’s reserves decreased by $303mn to $7.6bn. This decrease was entirely attributed to external debt repayments, which included repayment of a commercial loan and interest payment on Eurobonds,” the SBP said.

Reserves held by the commercial bank decreased by $39.1mn to $5.65bn.

Meanwhile, the total reserves held by the county decreased by $342mn to $13.25bn.
