PSX Close: KSE100 Index Down 93 Points

September 16, 2022 (MLN): Pakistan equities remained range bound today amid lack of positive triggers as the benchmark KSE100 index ended the trading session on Friday with a 93 point or 0.22 percent decline to close at 41,679.49.

The Index traded in a range of 317.93 points or 0.76 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 41,921.35 and a low of 41,603.42.

Of the 94 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 25 closed up 67 closed down, while 2 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 122.86 million shares.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Commercial Banks with 81 points, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 27 points, Tobacco with 18 points, Cement with 16 points and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 10 points.

The most points taken off the index was by MEBL which stripped the index of 30 points followed by HBL with 27 points, POL with 20 points, PAKT with 18 points and BAHL with 17 points.

Sectors propping up the index were Technology & Communication with 69 points, Chemical with 28 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 5 points, Close - End Mutual Fund with 5 points and Real Estate Investment Trust with 3 points.

The most points added to the index was by TRG which contributed 75 points followed by COLG with 26 points, ENGRO with 14 points, HUBC with 9 points and LOTCHEM with 9 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 40.63 Million to 219.35 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs.30.86 Billion.

Total companies traded were 315 compared to 341 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 108 closed up, 188 closed down while 19 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 15,500 to 106,214.

Value Traded decreased by 1.22 Billion to Rs.8.89 Billion
