Govt committed to incentivize fertilizer manufacturers, exporters: Shaukat Tarin

August 26, 2021: Finance Minister, Shaukat Tarin has said the government is committed to encourage and give incentives to fertilizer manufacturers and exporters to meet domestic demand effectively.

He was speaking at a meeting with the Chairman and other members of the Fertilizer Manufacturers of Pakistan Advisory Council in Islamabad yesterday (Wednesday).

The Minister said there is a need to bring in more investment in the fertilizer sector for enhancing domestic production and higher crop yields.

The Chairman of Fertilizer Manufacturers Council apprised the Finance Minister about the challenges faced by the fertilizer Industry such as cash flow crunch, a mismatch between input and output GST on Urea production.

The Finance Minister directed the Chairman FBR to expedite the disbursement of refunds to improve the liquidity position of the fertilizer industry.

He assured full support and facilitation to the fertilizer industry on the occasion.
