Weekly SCRA records net purchase of Rs1.56bn

Foreign investors buy Rs2.51bn worth of securities via SCRA

January 15, 2024 (MLN): The net purchase of securities for the week ended January 05, 2024 clocked in at Rs1.56bn, as compared to a net sale worth Rs439.46 million recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan on Friday.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs4.23bn, which is around 11.22% lower than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs5.78bn, which is 33.8% higher than the prior week, resulting in a net purchase of Rs1.56bn for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities increased by Rs1.46bn while the net sale of securities decreased by Rs534.19m.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs3.36bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs2.4bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs24.85bn, which marks a decline of Rs414.82m over the week.
