August 03, 2023 (MLN): According to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the gross sale of securities during the week was recorded at Rs2.1 billion, which is only 1% lower than the figures recorded last week.
Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs3.6bn, which is 14.5% lower than the prior week.
Consequently, the net purchase of securities for the week ended July 27, 2023 clocked in at Rs1.53bn, i.e. around Rs592.43 million lower than last week's numbers.
Over the week, the overall purchase of securities declined by Rs614.46m while the net sale of securities tumbled by Rs22.03m.
Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs2.27bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs159.62m.
The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs27.32bn, which marks a rise of Rs582.22m over the week.
