US pledges continued collaboration with Pakistan on economic

March 19, 2024 (MLN): U.S. Ambassador Donald Blome and Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held comprehensive talks on a wide range of bilateral issues, with a particular focus on the U.S.'s support of Pakistan's economic reform.

According to a press release issued on Monday, the dialogue extended to encompass regional security concerns, the potential for growth in the trade and investment relationship, and the enduring importance of the U.S.-Pakistan Green Alliance framework.

Ambassador Blome conveyed the United States’ commitment to working with the government and people of Pakistan, underscoring that prosperity and security for Pakistan remains a top priority for the United States.

U.S. Ambassador Donald Blome also met with President Asif Ali Zardari to discuss a broad range of issues important to the bilateral relationship, including U.S. support for continued economic reforms, human rights, and regional security.  

The Ambassador highlighted the importance of the two countries’ shared interests and the many opportunities to advance our shared goals, including through high level dialogues and the Green Alliance framework.

The Ambassador conveyed his condolences for the loss of Pakistani soldiers in the recent terrorist attack in Waziristan and assured the President the United States stands with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism.
