UBL Funds appoints Asif Ali Qureshi as CEO, Yasir Qadri resigns

July 25, 2024 (MLN): In an emergency board meeting today, the Board of Directors (BoD) of UBL Funds has appointed Asif Ali Qureshi as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of UBL Fund Managers Limited, effective July 26, 2024.

This follows the acceptance of Yasir Qadri’s resignation as CEO, effective from the same date.

The entity informed market participants of this development through a notice issued to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today.

About Asif Ali Qureshi

His professional experience spans significant roles in various leading organizations.

These include serving as Co-Founder and Chairman at Zakheera from January 2011 to July 2024, a tenure of over 13 years and 7 months.

Before this, he held the same position at Optimus Capital from April 2011 to June 2024.

He also worked as the Executive Director at Invisor Securities (Private) Limited from August 2004 to April 2011.

Before joining Invisor Securities, Asif served as the Head of Research at Global Securities Pakistan Limited from June 2003 to July 2004.

His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mathematics and Physics from the University of the Punjab, completed between 1991 and 1993, where he achieved an A grade.

He completed his master's in International Financial Analysis from Newcastle University in 1998 with a distinction.
